Chick-fil-A is the fastest growing fast-food chain that specializes in chicken sandwiches. The celiac friendly restaurant can be found everywhere across the United States. 

There are restaurants in mall food courts as well as in their own buildings. Will you be able to find free Wi-Fi in these restaurants if you choose to take your lunch break there? 

Most Chick-fil-A stores do have free Wi-Fi. Chick-fil-A has free open Wi-Fi available in their stores to allow customers things to do while enjoying their food. 

The main issue with Wi-Fi from any restaurant is it is often quite slow. So if you are looking to download a large file to your computer or something like that then Chick-fil-A’s free Wi-Fi probably isn’t the best option. 

But if you just want to get onto Facebook or look something up on Google then their Wi-Fi will be perfect for something like that.

Maybe you’re an author who writes better outside of your home, thriving off of the noise and busyness that surrounds you in a public place. 

You could be on vacation and want to upload some photos to your social media so you can share about all the fun you’re having with your family and friends. 

Perhaps you need to get some work done outside of the office. 

No matter what the reason might be for needing to connect to some free Wi-Fi it’s always good to know where you can find some. 

There are several businesses that offer free Wi-Fi to their customers. Chick-fil-A, Burger King, McDonald’s, Wendy’s and KFC are just a few fast-food restaurant chains that offer free Wi-Fi for their customers. Best Buy, Target, and Wal-Mart also have Wi-Fi available. 

I know several authors who spend days writing and researching at their local coffee shops. There they can not only connect to free Wi-Fi but feed their need for caffeinated beverages or baked goods. 

You can also turn your smartphone into a mobile hotspot. If you need to connect to the internet with your computer many smartphones will allow you to create a mobile hotspot. 

If you have an Android phone you will go to the settings app and click on “more” at the bottom of the screen. Then select “tethering and portable hotspot” then click on “Set Wi-Fi hotspot”. 

You will need to set up a name for your hotspot and create a password then save it. When you need to use it, you will just click on the Portable Wi-Fi hotspot option to turn it on. 

If you have an iOS device then all you need to do to set up a mobile hotspot is to open the settings app, then click on cellular. You will click on “Personal Hotspot” and then click on the slider to turn it on. You can create a password for it if you wish to do so. You should always set a strong password for your mobile hotspot to prevent others from connecting to it and using your data.

You can also download a hotspot database app to help you locate a mobile hotspot. There are apps for everything, even ones that will help you to find a mobile hotspot. 

Three of the most popular apps are Wiman, Avast Wi-Fi Finder, and WifiMapper. These apps will help you to locate Wi-Fi near you. 

Another option for Wi-Fi is to purchase a portable router. A portable router works just like your router at home. 

This travel size router uses a SIM card instead of a cable. This will allow you to connect to 3G, 4G, and LTE networks from just about anywhere in the world. 

A portable router can hold a charge for a day before you will need to recharge it. A portable router is not technically free Wi-Fi since you will need to pay for the router and the SIM card but it would be a great investment if you travel a lot and will need to access Wi-Fi away from your home and office often.

Does Starbucks Have Free Wi-Fi?

Starbucks is a popular place for those who are studying or working remotely. This is partly because of the delicious aromas and comfortable chairs but also because of their Wi-Fi. 

Starbucks does offer free Wi-Fi for their customers which is probably why so many authors and students love to hang out there. What’s not to love about great coffee and free Wi-Fi? 

To access the Wi-Fi at Starbucks you will need to look in the Wi-Fi networks for “Google Starbucks”. The Starbucks Wi-Fi landing page will load. 

You will need to fill out the fields in the form and then click “Accept and Connect”. It is that simple. However, if the Starbucks Wi-Fi landing page fails to load you can open your browser and navigate to a webpage. 

This should then direct you to the Starbucks Wi-Fi landing page so that you can accept the terms and conditions to gain access to their free Wi-Fi.

Does Target Offer Free Wi-Fi?

If you are in Target and you need something to distract your children, sometimes giving them a movie to watch can work wonders. But what if you don’t have a cell signal in the store? Do they have Wi-Fi? 

Target does offer free Wi-Fi for their customers. The Wi-Fi service is great for any mobile device such as your cell phone, smartwatch, or tablet. 

Sometimes a quick run to Target can end up taking an hour or more. It is so easy to get sidetracked inside of a store that offers so much. 

So, what do you do if you are with someone who is shopping and taking longer than they said they would? Or if you just need to browse the internet for something while you are shopping? 

You can connect to Target’s free Wi-Fi. 

To use Target’s Wi-Fi service all you need to do is go to your device’s Wi-Fi networks settings and then click on Target Guest. You will need to agree to the terms and conditions before you can gain access to the free Wi-Fi. 

Target’s free Wi-Fi, like many other places that offer free Wi-Fi, is not encrypted or secure. So, there is a security risk when you are using a public Wi-Fi network. 

There is a chance that a third party could be looking at any communications that you send over a public Wi-Fi network. Make sure that you are not sharing any valuable information that you would not want anyone else to gain access to.
