Olive Garden is an Italian restaurant serving pasta, soup, salad, breadsticks, and more. They are especially famous for their never ending breadsticks which are delivered to the table warm and spread with garlic-butter.

There have been many rumors about Olive Garden’s food being frozen. While some of the food they prepare needs to stay frozen until they use it, most of it is fresh.

Does this include the breadsticks or are these frozen, too?

Olive Garden’s breadsticks are not frozen however they are not made fresh at Olive Garden either. Their breadsticks are delivered pre-made. Olive Garden bakes them for a few minutes, adds the butter on top, and then puts them in a warmer until needed.

If you get some breadsticks that are dried out it’s because they have been in the warmer for too long so asking for a fresh batch will get you better tasting ones. If you get breadsticks that are incredibly hot it’s likely that they just came out of the oven and are as fresh as possible.

Every day, fresh pre-made bread rolls are delivered to each Olive Garden. They then take these premade rolls and put them in the oven for 3-4 minutes before putting their famous garlic butter on top.

Then they are either served or placed in a warmer until needed.

That is why you are guaranteed to receive warm breadsticks with every meal. They are either fresh out of the oven or out of the warmer.

The seasoning put on these pieces of bread is simply butter and garlic salt, the combination making them irresistible. Right after they are baked they are immediately brushed with melted butter and then sprinkled with garlic salt to make those wonderful breadsticks.

So, no, Olive Garden’s breadsticks are not frozen as some have said. However, they are not actually made fresh at Olive Garden. The pre-made bread is kept in dry storage until they are ready to be used.

Using this method you will be sure to have warm or hot breadsticks delivered to your table every single time. They are also unlimited so you can eat as many of the garlic-buttered breadsticks as you wish.

I hope this debunks all the myths surrounding if they are just pulled from a freezer and reheated.

Is Olive Garden Food All Frozen?

When eating at Olive Garden, have you ever wondered if that pasta meal and soup is frozen and just reheated for you to eat? Is their food all frozen?

Olive Garden’s food is not frozen. Some menu items that cannot be made right when the customer orders it are prepared ahead of time to be delivered to the table in a timely manner but nothing is frozen and then reheated.

You will be right in assuming some of Olive Gardens food is frozen. The meat they serve are normally frozen but this shouldn’t come as a surprise since it would be virtually impossible for the restaurant to get fresh meat every day.

All of the desserts are frozen too and then reheated if they are supposed to be served warm. Not all of the food is frozen however.

The soups are made fresh daily and they use fresh and whole ingredients such as kale, peppers, and squash. Along with the soups, the sauces, appetizers and many meals are freshly prepared by hand every day.

The pasta at Olive Garden isn’t made to order but rather it is prepared in the morning and then prepared for each order. It isn’t frozen or microwaved but after being cooked al dente it is then portioned into bags or put in a large container.

Then when the dish is ordered all they have to do is put the pasta in boiling water for a certain amount of time, strain it, and then put it on a plate to be sent your way.

Olive Garden’s breadsticks are not frozen either. They are delivered to the restaurant and then heated and served soft and warm to their guests. Their secret to how delicious they are is all because of the butter and garlic salt used to season them.

Do Olive Garden Pick Up Orders Come With Breadsticks?

Who doesn’t love those soft, perfectly seasoned breadsticks at Olive Garden? If you order meals To Go, do they come with breadsticks?

For your pick up entree it will include one round of breadsticks and salad or soup but any more will cost an extra fee.

You can order Olive Garden To Go through their website, app, or by calling the store. In a To Go order at Olive Garden, you will get two breadsticks. If you want any more you can get 6 extra breadsticks for a fee.

If you need more than what comes with one of the meals, those extra 6 breadsticks will cost you a price of $4.29 more. You can order unbaked breadsticks as well.

To cook the yummy breadsticks, place them in a 450 degree oven on the middle rack and bake for about 6 to 8 minutes. Remove them from the oven and brush with the liquid margarine provided using about one and a half tablespoons per 12 breadsticks. Then

sprinkle generously with garlic salt using about one tablespoon per 12 breadsticks.

Are Olive Garden Breadsticks Bad For You?

Olive Garden’s breadsticks are delicious and talking about them so much probably has you craving them. But you may be thinking, with all of that bread, butter and salt, are they bad for you?

The breadsticks at Olive Garden are not healthy for you to eat a lot of them. Even if you have certain health conditions one may not be too harmful but if you eat an excess amount it is not good for you.

Now, the breadsticks at Olive Garden are not the healthiest choice in food. As I said, they contain butter, not to mention they are loaded with carbs because they are a big piece of bread.

It is said that one breadstick is 140 calories, 2.5 grams of fat, and 25 grams of carbohydrates.

If you eat just one it probably won’t harm you too much but since they are so irresistible, it can be hard to control the urge to eat just one more. Each breadstick is topped with sodium and so if you’re an adult trying to limit sodium or carb intake, it is best to avoid them.

They are yummy to eat but Olive Garden’s breadsticks are not really that good for your health.

Final Thoughts

Olive Garden’s breadsticks are not frozen regardless of what some people have said. According to many former servers the bread is pre-made and is delivered to the store. The breadsticks are kept in dry storage until they cook it again, season it, and send it out to your table.

Breadsticks are made regularly ensuring that customers receive soft and warm ones before their meals arrive.

The breadsticks aren’t healthy for you to eat and although it is hard to resist one more, eating several is not good for your health especially if you are trying to cut back on carbs and sodium.

Olive Garden breadsticks do come with their to go orders so you can enjoy them on the go or at home, too.

The breadsticks at Olive Garden are not frozen but are made fresh daily providing the restaurant’s customers with delicious breadsticks with every meal.
