Hot pockets are many people’s favorite for a quick and easy lunch. You just place the frozen food into the microwave and heat it up. In minutes you get a piping hot pizza pocket.

But, you want to try something new, frying the hot pocket! So, can you fry hot pockets?

You can fry Hot Pockets and it can be done in a skillet on the stovetop, in an air fryer, or in a deep fryer. It doesn’t take long to fry Hot Pockets and it can give it a nice and crispy crust making the Hot Pockets texture much better than being microwaved.

Do you like to try new ways of cooking food? Or maybe you can’t use your oven and are wanting to use the stovetop instead. Or perhaps you just really enjoy fried foods.

Well most foods are able to be fried on the stovetop. This can give them a crispy exterior and cook them in minutes.

Hot Pockets are already pre-cooked meals. All you have to do is take them out of the freezer and heat them up in a microwave. There is no need for thawing. But, if you are going to be frying the hot pockets, you will need to do things a little differently.

When frying Hot Pockets, you do need to thaw them. If you don’t, then the ice crystals that have formed on the food while it was frozen can cause the oil to splatter. Another thing that can happen is that the Hot Pockets will burn before the inside is heated through.

So, before frying Hot Pockets, thaw them in the refrigerator. Once they are thawed, heat some oil in a frying pan or skillet. If you are deep frying, you will want the oil to cover the pizza pocket. You can use any type of oil you’d like.

The best types of oil for frying are canola oil, vegetable oil, and peanut oil since they have a high smoke point meaning that they can be heated to high temperatures without burning.

You should heat the oil to 350F. Pat the crust of the Hot Pocket to remove any condensation and place them in the pan of heated oil. You can usually only fit 2 or 3 in a pan at once. If you put too many at once in the pan, they can end up sticking together so avoid overcrowding the skillet.

Cook the Hot Pockets for 2 to 3 minutes on one side and then flip them over and cook for an additional 2 to 3 minutes on the other side. It doesn’t take too long to fry Hot Pockets since their filling is already cooked through.

You just need to heat them up and by frying them you can also give them a crunchy exterior texture.Once they are finished frying, remove the Hot Pockets from the oil and place them on a paper-towel lined plate.

If you are frying severa Hot Pockets, then you can put them on an oven proof plate or baking sheet and keep them warm in the oven on 200F until you are done frying all of them. When they are all fried, serve and enjoy your fried Hot Pockets.

Is There A Better Way To Cook Hot Pockets?

Hot Pockets can be cooked in a few different ways. You can use the traditional method of cooking it in a microwave or toaster oven or you can cook it in the oven. You can also fry Hot pockets for a crunchy and delicious lunch.

But, is there a better way to cook Hot Pockets?

A better way to cook Hot pockets is by using the oven or frying them instead of cooking them in the microwave. This will be sure to cook them all the way through and instead of resulting in a soggy crust, you can achieve a nice crunchy crust.

Hot Pockets are available in a variety of flavors and are enjoyed by many school students or those with busy schedules. Some like them and include them into their diet for a quick on-the-go snack or meal and others don’t really care much for them.

One thing about Hot Pockets is that it can be difficult to heat them correctly. It seems they are either way too hot or way too cold. But, the worst is when you are enjoying a piping hot Hot Pocket but the middle is ice cold.

So, if you are looking for a better way to cook your Hot Pockets more thoroughly, try cooking them in the oven or in a frying pan for great results. However, if all you have is a microwave then here is a hack that can help you heat them all the way through for a better tasting lunch.

You know how sometimes Hot Pockets end up being cold in the middle? This actually seems to happen more often than not. Eating a Hot Pocket for lunch you are halfway through when you take a bite and it is cold.

During the heating process, the meal just didn’t heat all the way through. Well, there is an easy way to fix this! If you are microwaving your Hot Pocket, take it out when it is about 75% of the way done cooking and shake it. Hold it at both ends and shake it back and forth so that the filling at both ends mix with the colder filling in the middle.

Then put it back in the microwave and finish cooking. Your meat and cheese pizza topping filled sandwich should then be consistently heated through.

So, a better way to cook Hot Pockets in the microwave is to take it out, shake it, and then let it finish cooking. Other ways you can cook Hot Pockets better are to cook them in a toaster oven, oven or fry them in a frying pan or skillet.

Final Thoughts

As we conclude, know that you can fry Hot Pockets. This makes for a different way of cooking the frozen lunches and makes it taste better since frying it gives it a crunchy texture.

If all you have is a microwave then just shake it up before it is almost done cooking and then finish heating it for a piping hot interior all the way through. You can also cook these pizza-filled turnovers in a toaster oven or oven.

But, for a Hot Pocket with a crispy crust, you can fry them.
