Taco Bell does have Dr. Pepper at some of their locations but most of them will only sell Pepsi products. Unfortunately which locations sell Dr. Pepper and which don’t varies depending on your location and state.

Did you know that Dr. Pepper is the oldest major soft drink in America? It was created, manufactured and sold in 1885 by a man named Charles Alderton.

Alderton was a pharmacist who worked at a drugstore in Waco, Texas. The owner of this drugstore was named Wade Morrison.

The website, Mental Floss, has some interesting facts about the delicious drink. They mention how Dr. Pepper was once marketed by being able to be drunk not only cold, but hot as well.

They say, “A cold Dr Pepper can be heavenly on a hot day, but very few families gather around their Christmas trees for a frosty soda in December. In the ’60s Dr Pepper tried to stimulate holiday sales by marketing hot Dr Pepper with lemon as a festive alternative tipple for winter gatherings.

The ads found some traction in the South, but as you’ve probably noticed, warm Dr Pepper didn’t become a holiday staple. Still, hot Dr Pepper had its devotees.

In the ’70s Foots Clements told multiple journalists that he would have three or four hot Dr Peppers in the morning and a half-dozen cold bottles every afternoon.”

Some say that Morrison named the drink Dr. Pepper after the father of a girl he was once in love with but other theories suggest that the “pep” refers to pesin. In 1891, Morrison joined another man named Lazenby and formed a company which later became the Dr. Pepper Company.

Then in 1904 Dr, Pepper was introduced to the U.S. as a new soda pop made with 23 flavors. When this new soda was marketed, it was said to be a brain tonic and an energizing pick-me-up.

Over the years, Dr. Pepper has produced many varieties of its soft drink from flavored to diet. It is sold in restaurants and stores across the nation as well as some foreign countries.

Most restaurants serve their customers the cherry flavored spicy drink including the fast food restaurant Taco Bell. Depending on the location, when you order at Taco Bell you can get this favorite soda to sip and enjoy.

The website, Soda Pop Craft, explains that. Dr Pepper can be seen alongside other soda brands in that Pepsi and Coca Cola have small shares in the Dr Pepper’s parent company…bottlers owned by PepsiCo, The Coca-Cola Company, and others are licensed to bottle and distribute Dr Pepper across the rest of the world and specific states in the United States of America”
