Making brownies is so much fun. When you have a great recipe to follow, the baking experience is easy to do. You put on your arpon and grab all the ingredients.

After mixing everything together it’s time to place them in the oven so you can later enjoy some of the delicious desserts. At this point in the process you may be wondering if you should use some type of lining for the bottom of the pan.

Will the brownies stick to whatever baking paper you line the pan with?

Brownies will not stick to any kind of baking paper because it is made to be non-stick and heat resistant. These non-stick papers are used all the time in cooking or baking but you will sometimes need to spray them with a little non-stick spray.

Usually when baking you will use some butter or oil to coat the pan so that the dish won’t stick to the bottom. If you want an extra layer just to make sure your brownies don’t stick you can also use some baking paper.

Examples of baking paper are parchment paper, aluminum foil, and cupcake liners. Brownies shouldn’t stick to the baking paper. Using these when baking brownies will not only help them not stick but will make cleanup easier.

For best results when you are using cupcake liners opt for high quality ones. Spraying them with cooking spray or brushing with butter will also help with the brownies sticking to them.

Parchment paper, aluminum foil, and cupcake liners are all non-stick baking paper. They are extremely durable, heat-resistant, and water-resistant. They can be found in the baking aisle at virtually any grocery store.

If you plan on using some for your next brownie batch, parchment paper is the way to go. Not only will the brownies slide easily out of the pan but cleanup will be alot easier for you too.

It’s an extra step but one that will make a difference in how your dessert turns out. Because no one likes when the bottom of the brownies gets stuck to the pan resulting in only the top half to enjoy, use some baking paper before putting the brownies in the pan.

Do You Have To Use Parchment Paper For Brownies?

Brownies are one of those favorite desserts that can be enjoyed at any age. When baking them, you can do a few things that make the whole process easier.

Even though it is your opinion whether you use baking paper such as parchment paper to line the bottom of the pan, it does make for brownies that won’t stick to the bottom.

You do not have to use any baking paper when making your brownies but it will normally save you time and brownies in the long run.

If you are one that likes to just eat the brownies straight out of the pan, this may not apply to you. You don’t always have to have parchment paper when making brownies, it just helps get them out of the pan once they are baked and cooled a little bit easier.

But when you want to share your treats, it’s easier and less messy to line the pan with a sheet of parchment paper before baking them. Also, if you want them to look presentable, lining the pan with some type of baking paper is needed.

Otherwise they may come out in chunks.

You don’t want to hand your house guests a bunch of crumbs but rather a neatly cut square of the chocolate goodness. It’s an extra step to do but worth it.

Even if you don’t have any parchment paper in your kitchen you can use aluminum foil or be creative and even use cupcake liners to make brownie cupcakes instead. It is also recommended that you layer the sheets of baking paper by buttering or spraying the pan first and then laying a sheet down with the ends hanging out, then coating that sheet and laying another down with a final coat of butter or oil on top.

Then place in your batter and enjoy those wonderful brownies.

You don’t have to use parchment paper and can certainly skip this step but if you want your dessert to slide out of the pan with ease and stay neatly intact, this method will work like a charm. After the brownies are baked and cooled you will be able to enjoy your brownies without the hassle of scooping up the parts stuck to the bottom of the pan.

Can You Use Wax Paper Instead Of Parchment Paper?

If you are an avid and experienced baker you know how important the little things are. One missing step or ingredient and you will end up with terrible brownies.

Sometimes though, you can substitute one thing for another. When lining the brownie pan, can you use wax paper instead of parchment paper?

Wax paper can not be substituted for parchment paper in baking as wax paper will melt with heat. However, sometimes wax paper can be used instead of parchment paper in other scenarios.

Both types of baking paper are great for rolling pastry dough and layering deserts so they won’t stick together. But when exposed to heat, wax paper can melt.

The go to for many bakers is parchment paper since it can withstand high heat. There is only one time when wax paper can be used in baking instead of parchment paper and its according to Eating Well

They say, “There’s one exception to the rule of keeping wax paper away from heat: it can be used to line the bottom of cake pans because the cake batter absorbs much of the heat and prevents the wax from melting.”

Even though wax paper and parchment paper look very similar, they are two completely different things. Yes, they both help food from not sticking together or to a surface but when it comes to baking one is the obvious choice, parchment paper.

When making brownies you don’t want the lining that is supposed to keep the dessert from sticking to the bottom of the pan to melt or even catch on fire. Wax paper will do this when placed in high temperatures.

It is best to avoid using wax paper when baking in an oven if you can. It just isn’t meant to handle the heat.

Parchment paper is made for these types of recipes and will produce great results.

What Is The Best Pan To Bake Brownies In?

Brownie pans are available in many stores but which one is the best to use? A brownie pan is usually a square 8×8 or 9×9 inches or can be a rectangular 9×13 inches.

You can even bake the brownies in a cupcake pan or round cake pan. Is there a certain kind of pan that is best to bake brownies in?

An aluminum bakeware pan with a nonstick coating inside of it is the best pan to use to bake brownies in. The size of the pan really doesn’t matter but 9×13 is the most common size used.

By using one of these aluminum pans, you will get crispier and more flavorful brownies. You can also use a ceramic or glass pan to bake the brownies.

Some pans are one large square or rectangle while others have lines for easy cutting. You can even purchase a brownie pan that has squares for perfectly shaped and baked brownies.

A high quality pan is best when making this scrumptious dessert.

Aluminum brownies pans are considered the best, especially one that is non-stick. To make sure the brownie batter won’t get stuck on the bottom of the pan, try buttering or spraying the pan first.

The best way is to line it with a sheet of baking paper and spray with oil. A non-stick aluminum pan is sure to bake your brownies to perfection for yummy and irresistibly gooey treats.

Final Thoughts

Whether you’re a beginning baker or an expert, you should use some baking paper to line the bottom of the pans. This way the batter won’t stick and you can easily remove the brownie from the pan.

You can use parchment paper, aluminum foil, or cupcake liners to get the job done so you can enjoy your delicious dessert.
